Banking and Money Exchange

The local currency is the “Real” (R$), which may be exchanged at banks and hotels.

Presently, August 2019, US$ 1.00 buys about R$ 4.00 and 1.00 EUR buys about R$ 4.40 at banks. At hotels, the rate of exchange may vary widely.

American Express, VISA and MasterCard credit cards are widely accepted at hotels, restaurants and main stores

Meals and Restaurants

A rich buffet service will be offered at the venue during the Conference at reasonable price (R$ 74/lunch - about US$ 23 or EU 20).

There is still a variety of nearby restaurants, where the participants may try the local food at lower prices. The list of restaurants will be available during the Conference.
